Sir Tom Finney Football Club is always looking for ways to increase participation within the sport and making sure ‘Football For All’ is achieved. Which is why the club has introduced our very own refugee team. This team is targeted to those individuals who have sought asylum in this country. We strongly believe everyone deserves a fair chance to be involved in the beautiful game no matter what their background. The team recently managed to attract a member of the Royal Family where they showcased their skills and impressed his Royal Highness.

The first of 167 FA Grassroots Hubs across England, the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and Sir Tom Finney Football Club has been providing weekly football sessions for local refugees since October 2017. The sessions have since grown from eight people at the start to over 40 participants of different ages and nationalities, helping the refugees to settle into the community and meet people with similar experiences.
