A Christmas message from Sir Tom Finney FC Chairman Peter Mason…

On behalf of The Sir Tom Finney Football Club, and our committee, I would like to wish all of you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Thank you for your fantastic support throughout 2020. It’s been a challenging year for everyone. I am very proud to be Chairman of The Sir Tom Finney FC, but this is your club, and your passion and loyalty is what makes this such a special place.
Our special thanks go to our players, parents and volunteers who have all continued to work tirelessly during a very busy and challenging period, continuously adjusting to support the club and its needs and give their time so willingly. It is greatly appreciated by myself and the Committee Members.

We are grateful too, to our sponsors Bowker BMW, Millers Taxi’s, Surridge Sports and our community partners UCLAN, who have helped us establish a strong foundation with their support over the years. We would also like to thank PlayFootball for their continued support with our adult Disability group and their increased support in relation to our Junior training. We have also had the pleasure in working with new partners who have accommodated us with this year, Preston Grasshoppers, Fylde Sports and Education Centre and Preston’s College. We also say a huge Thank You to our football family at Cadley FC and BAC/ee jfc for assisting us with training venues in times of need.

We wish our club patron, Graham Alexander and his family all the best this Christmas and Thank You for the continued support, encouraging our young players and our Disability adult group  to be the best they can be and never to give into life challenges.

We as Club in partnership with The Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre are extremely proud and honoured to have been awarded the North West Football Award 2020 for promoting Inclusion and the 2020 Lancashire FA Inclusion Award, It was also great recognition for some of our volunteers as Imran Member, Kane Tack and Luke King who received awards in The Preston Sports Awards and Mick Johnson who was named The Lancashire FA Volunteer of the Year award.

We have enjoyed some hugely memorable moments during the year, and yes some extremely frustrating times too, but it’s important that we all stick together as one.

Please enjoy a fantastic Christmas and cherish the time spent with loved ones. We hope to welcome you back in January 2021 and bringing the smiles back to our adults, disability and junior teams.

We look forward to 2021 and hope that it brings everything you wish for, on and off the pitch.

Peter Mason
